fantastic video of Juan Carlos Ferrero!

Check it out if you like Juan Carlos Ferrero!!

Amazing music video for his 27th birthday on Feburary 12th, 2007!! The guy, or more likely, the girl who made it must love him to death!!! She collected every piece of his special moment, even those when he is, sadly, no longer at the acme in his sports life. Then she edited them in such a unique and thoughtful fashion, with very tasteful music.

This video reminds how I once upon a time was so crazy for my Juan Carlos. Oh, I almost forget this. How can I almost forget this?!

French Open will commence soon. Juan Carlos Ferrero will own Roland Garros!!!!

the painted veil

Lift not the painted veil which those who live
Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822)

Lift not the painted veil which those who live
Call Life: though unreal shapes be pictured there,
And it but mimic all we would believe
With colours idly spread,--behind, lurk Fear
And Hope, twin Destinies; who ever weave
Their shadows, o'er the chasm, sightless and drear.
I knew one who had lifted it--he sought,
For his lost heart was tender, things to love,
But found them not, alas! nor was there aught
The world contains, the which he could approve.
Through the unheeding many he did move,
A splendour among shadows, a bright blot
Upon this gloomy scene, a Spirit that strove
For truth, and like the Preacher found it not.

UN's nonperformance on safeguarding human rights

It's a very compelling video!!
The first link is to the UN Watch website with the transcript of the speech.
The second one has many interesting or thoughtful or harsh user comments on this video.

Should we blame a blind kid for having a dream to see the shooting star one day?
But can we allow the blind kid to be in charge of the telescope of human kind, to be the herald of shooting stars?

If you have no dream, you'll have no dream come true.

Three Sisters

I just came back from a play performed by Lehigh students of theater. The play "The three sisters" was written by Anton Chekhov. It tells that with the approach of the Russian revolution, how three sisters struggle passionately to cope with love, life and loss as they yearn for Moscow and better days.  Above is the link to the text.

I think Lehigh students did a very good job in interpreting the passion, puzzle, struggle and disappointment of the Russian commons living in a county at that time. However, as most of Chekhov's plays, it tries to end up with a positive message but was haunted by the prevalent hardship and pessimism expressed in the course. None of the three sisters are happy, their brother is a big loser. The only man in the play who keep declaring that he is happy and has been a happy man since he was born is the husband of Masha, the second sister. However, what's ironic is that he's happy because he's ignorant of his wife affair with a leutinate -- Ignorance is a bliss?

Well, I should write more and I do have more to say. I'll catch up next week after my trip to Boston this weekend.

http://www.thegroundtruth.org/film.html

那个人说:"I LOVE MY COUNTRY."

Oh my god, i can't believe we were asked to say this word."
